wisteria1Mar 07 21: 10:15ambear-it5, wise or not, the bestest thing you did was being prepared with a fire extinguisher to stop the problem on the spot. And if the people got squirrely, you could have just bonked them with it and run Heroic acts aren't always the sensible choice. Thank you for your service.
JillyMar 07 21: 10:04amThank you Bear-it5! Scary situation but so is a big brush fire and it can take a while for authorities to arrive. Had run ins with crazy people in the forest; rule while hiking away is change direction once you are out of their sight and carry a big stick.

echofoxMar 06 21: 10:35pm Bear-it5 It is folks like you that make our mountains safe!
NatureMar 06 21: 10:05pmAgreed. You never know.
Bear-it5Mar 06 21: 09:47pmThank you Nature. Was happy to do it, but Benny and my hubby are right, best to leave the tricky stuff to our local law enforcement/ fire. These people were not good people, on meth snd were not happy with us at all. Could have been a dangerous situation, just was so angry wasn’t thinking straight. Everyone enjoy your evening and stay safe.
NatureMar 06 21: 09:38pmRight about now I feel like crewing up steel and spitting hot tacks hearing about a campfire in our mountains. My mind is blown at what type of people we have to deal with. I’ve Seen them toss live cigarettes out their car windows. So glad you were there Bear.
Bear-it5Mar 06 21: 09:23pmSo agree Benny, felt safe to stop as I was with my law enforcement hubby and in public on the 330. They were at the turnout just past the shooting range. Didn’t even have the fire on the asphalt but in the bushes the big dummies. As we were leaving after pulling away from calling 911, my hubby even noted that we shouldn’t have pulled in there like that. Hindsight, will just call it in next time. Just was so shocked to see a huge campfire wasn’t thinking. Not everyone is a good person, lesson learned. They were not happy about losing their cooking fire. Do it differently next time for sure. 👍
Benny ⭐Mar 06 21: 09:01pmWow, that's quite the something Bear, thx for doing your good deed for the day! Brave you are, must be careful, never know what you'll run into out there!

Bear-it5Mar 06 21: 08:26pmHad to share after we calmed down a bit to give everyone a laugh. Approx 5:30 heading up the 330 back home there was a family living in a van with a pretty substantial open fire ( not a grill) cooking their dinner. Turned the Jeep around and whipped out the fire extinguisher, scolding them that they couldn’t have a campfire and the drugged out woman said yes she could because the sign said “ Moderate fire” 😂😂😂😂😂😂 moved up the 330 a bit til we had a cell signal and called it in. Oh boy, people!!!
