Just noticed on my can we are responsible if the can is destroyed by fire. i now that is in the case that the can is ruined by ashes etc. BUT it also could be taken that if they are destroyed by a wildfire we would be responsible!!!! UGHHHHH!!!

I went to the meeting. Good turnout. A lot of good points made by residents...
It’ll be interesting to see what happens.
The board said they spent 3 years working on this program, spoke about it in previous meetings, and were confused by the fact that virtually no one has said a word until now.
Living down the hill, I don’t normally make a habit of looking at the minutes etc. from these meetings so I had no idea this was being discussed.
Most boards, weather the CSD, city council etc. know that rate increases or changes to service bring people out of the woodwork. So my suggestion was to spend a few extra bucks and send letters to homeowners about potential new programs like this before the decision is made to get public input, and to also have a basic bulletin board on the CSD homepage with brief bullet points stating what topics will be discussed in the next meeting. That way no one has to sift through the site to try to find out if there is anything being discussed that might be of concern to them.

One topic they agreed to look into was that they originally had decided not to give customers a second bin for yard trash simply because they did not have the money to do so. Public comments were made that they could still allow us to put out our normal yard waste as usual in the meantime so as not to put the burden on the customer to solve a problem they created.
Also, to the Grizzly, instead of putting down people you think are unwilling to accept change or are living in the past in your Sept 11 opinion piece on these new bins maybe you could actually do what newspapers are supposed to do, do your own actual research and give us information that can actually benefit us as a community.
P.S. Grizzly newspaper: ironically a couple of comments the board made were specifically about how easy it would be for animals to open these bin lids and that even from the little bit of wind we had yesterday a large number of the lids were blown open. So much for your cheap shot mocking people about there concern for these cans blowing down the street. Even they had concerns what would happen to them in the wind....
Change can be good but not just for the sake of change. It needs to be well thought out and make sense....

The equipment/receptacle could be considered a lease. Yes, if you lease something, be it car, medical equipment, furniture, you are responsible for the cost of replacing it.
