(FINAL) Crews Are On Scene Of The Lightning Snag Fire (tree) On Sugarloaf Mountain. Single Tree With No Heat Or Smoke Currently Showing. The Crew Will Be Doing Some Saw And Ground Work. They Are Calling This Fire CONTAINED. Crews Will Be Working On Scene For About 90 Minutes And Then They Have A 2 Hour Hike Out To The Landing Zone For Pickup.

Crews Are About 30-60 Minutes Out From The Fire (hiking In). The Skycrane Will Continue Drops For 1 More Fuel Cycle And Will Then Be Released. Helictoper 538 Is At The Big Bear City Airport Cooling Off And Will Resume Drops And Fire Recon Shortly. Helicopter 538 Will Remain Assigned To This Fire As Crews Make Access And Start Fire Suppression Efforts On The Ground.

Just saw the big Sikorsky fly over to Sugarloaf, looks like he's dipping in the lake. That makes two helicopters responding to this one.

Smoke Jumper Plane has been flying in the area of the Sugar Fire. These incredible folks parachute into remote areas to fight fires. They will likely not be needed as a helicopter will transport some firefighters to the Sugar Fire.

Big Bear Fire Authority/Department serves the rest of Big Bear. They choose to NOT post info on the map.

In the past, Big Bear Fire Authority has often chosen to NOT give a warning detailing corrections needed. Instead, they often went straight to a citation/notice that comes with fines. I haven't heard if this is the way they are doing it this year; has anyone heard?

Weeds grow and debris collects up here on the mountain. Never wait to get a notice to clean your property up! That would be a fire hazard.
