SCM cool pic! I was not aware of climbing at Castle Rock... I was just aware of Pinnacles, north Holcomb Valley and the crack on 38 just above the hairpin for Forest Falls.... I may need to check out CR one of these days.

Thanks scm! I had no idea about that, just thought it was a trail everyone seemed to like ! I have always been more a lake, waterski jet ski person and moderate hikes so never knew about rock climbing here.

Hey SamIam! Yes that was very sad to hear. Castle Rock is known for its pretty narly climbing terrain.

Power is back on in Forest Falls.

I just saw an article about a rock climber falling to his death in big bear July 12 and was wondering where people rock climb here? I’ve never seen them rock climbing in 30 plus years of being here.

I just went down 38. Both lanes are open but there are a lot of emergency vehicles around the turnout near the fire so be ready to slow down.

Something really bugs me about these seemly random firse. We know about fires almost immediately which if course is a good thing. I want to know how it started. Was it lightning? Is it one of the river people being careless? What should the public be looking our for?
