Shasta Incident Command Is Reporting That The Fire Has Been Mostly Knocked Down. Sounds Like The Fire Was Confined To Storage And Areas Around The Structure With Little To No Involvement Of The Actual Residence. One Tree Was Also Involved. Units Will Be Moving Into Mop-up Mode Shortly.

Jilly, we have a remote reader on ours that we installed. The app is on our phones and iPad so that we can check the tank without having to physically check it. We’re not on autofill either because we call around when it comes time to refill since pricing fluctuates from one propane company to another.

A remote reader is better than the old way of pouring hot water down the side of the tank to check where the propane changes from warm to cold.

Question for all the mountain people on propane...we received a notice from Amerigas that they can install a remote tank reader for free, if we want/it's optional. I can't think of any reason not to, except it gives someone (Amerigas) information on our usage. (We do not have auto-refill, only to refill when we request it). Does anyone have knowledge or thoughts on this?
