Dreamweaver11 hour(s) ago Cool site with some details on the old Lake Drive-in including a clip from the Grizzly when it first opened. There are a couple of tabs at the top of the page with links to images and comments. I recall it no longer operating in the late 70’s. [Click Here]
holeinbow14 hour(s) ago @Razz, funny thing is that despite all the " habitat disruption"that happened at the drive in, that ugly ol' weed is doing a booming business and is alive and thriving, life finds a way...
holeinbow14 hour(s) ago I think i was ten when me and mom went to the drive in, i beleive the feature was " last remake of beau geste" and another which i disremember the name of. Cartoons began the set, intermission had the dancing soda cups on screen. Entry had two spotlights on top of the feature board, which never worked. Entry was at the corner closest to the trailer park entry. There was a playground directly under the screen. Look closely between the building and the highway and you can still see the humps that cars parked on. Upstairs of building closest to highway was the projection room, downstairs was the snack bar. I think itd be a hoot to do some summertime drive in movies, say maybe the first werewolf movie, blazing saddles, and some choice cartoons.

Airport Razz20 hour(s) ago I can only imagine how cool it was to pull up with the wagon full of kids to watch the new movie up that week at the drive-thru. Closed prior 1981. I understand there was another one in the Peter Pan area that closed before that. Not sure why they left the screen frame up for so many years, until it became dangerous. I guess to remind us what we had and how quickly Mother Nature will take it away with the assist of questionable governemnt officials and departments. Gone because of an ugly weed. But whacha gonna do??

Benny ⭐23 hour(s) ago The theater itself closed like 40 years ago-ish. But the screen was left up for many, many years after. More recently torn down.
[AOF]Doolittle 1 day(s) ago When did the drive-in movie close. I remember seeing the logs for the screen, than they were gone. It was next to Spencer reality.
