FLASH REPORT #1 – Flash Flood Activities
DATE/TIME OF INCIDENT: 08/29/13 3:00 p.m.
DATE/TIME OF REPORT: 08/29/13 5:00 p.m.
LOCATION OF EVENT: San Bernardino County
CURRENT SITUATION:

β€’ OES is tracking incidents related to the rain, wind and flash flooding that began this afternoon affecting all regions across the County.
β€’ Per both San Diego and Las Vegas National Weather Service bureaus, the flash flood potential may continue well into the evening hours tonight.
β€’ Below are the incidents currently being tracked:


Road Closures
οƒ˜ As per CalTrans, I 40 EB is closed at Nebo Center with no estimated time of reopening.
οƒ˜ As per SB County Sheriff, flash flooding and debris has caused the closure of Valley of the Falls Drive at Hwy 38.
οƒ˜ Per County Fire, there are two mud slides at Slide Creek near County Fire Station 99 and at another at Snow Creek requiring heavy equipment.
οƒ˜ According to County Fire responders surveying the area report that no homes have impacted by significant run off in the Forest Falls area thus far.


Rescue Activities
οƒ˜ A swift water rescue was conducted at Prospect Drive in Forest Falls.
οƒ˜ A truck and trailer was stranded in swift water in Joshua Tree.
Miscellaneous Incidents
οƒ˜ Two leaking propane tanks have been secured on Valley of the Falls Drive in Forest Falls.
οƒ˜ The County Health Services Building at 850 E Foothill Avenue in Rialto has been closed due to flood warning. It will reopen tomorrow.

NO FURTHER FLASH REPORTS WILL BE ISSUED UNLESS CONDITIONS WORSEN
