Anyone tried the new Country Kitchen restaurant where the Mill Creek Manor Tea Room was? Would be nice to have some good food on that end of town

(VERY) late breakfast today at CK - "Cordon Bleu Skillet" - Bacon, hash browns, scrambled eggs, diced ham, crispy chicken tenders, and Swiss Cheese hiding under a very tasty hollandaise sauce for around $12. Enough for two people to split - add toast, fruit, or pancakes on the side. Senior discount of 10% is DOUBLED on Tuesday to 20%.
Breakfast is available ALL day until closing. Unlimited coffee (pot left on the table).
We'll go back and try other items on the menu. Nothing exotic, but potentially several notches above Denny's.
The price you pay though is having to listen to Country-Western music.

We were given the lowdown on the history of Mill Creek Manor Tea Room (and its predecessors) over the years. We've been driving by there for over 30 years and never suspected what was available inside! BBL does have some interesting history indeed.

We tried it this week. We had the Cordon Blue skillet also, delicious! The fried Pickles were the best I have ever had! Give it a try!

Upon returning to CK, we found that the "Corporate" menu on the Web shows crepes, but BBL franchise is not yet serving these - soon we are promised. Lunch was a Reuben and their popular seasoned french fries. Reuben not quite up to Maggio's, but CK is a much shorter drive for us - like 3 minutes.
Join the CK e-club for 15% discount, free birthday meal, etc.

No Country/Western music today - I don't know if they're just playing CD's or choosing a Music Channel for the day.

Thanks for the reviews everyone. I never visited the Tea Room but I will definitely give Country Kitchen a try!

Based on Hank's recommendation, I gave CK a try several months ago. I'm not a foodie so my perspective is where to get a decent meal at a reasonable price with good service. After that, throw in some ambiance. My reference restaurant for comparison is Teddy Bear.

The food at CK was okay and the price was about the same as TB. The waitress was friendly and i got a chance to chat with the owner when I checked out. They were hoping for a lot of business this winter to get over the hump and I hope that's worked out for them. All in all, it's a nice place to grab a bite and worth a visit.
