Red Pear Tree Leaves

Every year, for the past twenty-five or so, the pear tree leaves have turned bright yellow and faded to yellow/brown before falling off in autumn. This year, they are turning bright red. Does anybody have any idea what this means?

Crown Rot

Thanks for the link.

Thinking back to the watering schedule last year, four 1.0 gph drippers for one hour a day doesn't seem anywhere close to over watering.

The tree appears quite healthy, with some fruit developing. We'll see what it does this autumn.

Yeah 4 gal total seems ok (2 or 3 times a week is all I've done), unless it has some drainage issue. Like an old cement pond filled in or construction debris pile or granite boulders down below like we do.
Didja dig around the trunk like that site said? Copper treatment too.
But sounds like it made it out ok.
