holeinbow41 minute(s) ago Welp, i found the equipment at the damkeeper's, precipitation gauge only with a nice flat line right at zero...
holeinbow46 minute(s) ago I have a buddy locally with a big solar array, 9 large panels. not sure on the specs but ive seen it throw a good 2 inch arc right after he put it in. Not sure if he harnessed it, the control technology has come such a long way since he built the thing. Oughta go have a beer and pick his brain a bit...
holeinbow57 minute(s) ago Im wondering if theres a link to the usgs weather station at the damkeeper's house?
Applenut1 hour(s) ago Metcalf; We just use the BBCSD station in Erwin, next to the water tank off hatchery [Click Here]
McToddy2 hour(s) ago Metcalf: what are the requirements? Do you want remote/web access? Do you want logging (to monitor historical trends, like when it got the hotest in the day). Im curious about what Doo will have to say
McToddy2 hour(s) ago Dr B -- My opinion about 4patriots: it's crap. It's all marketing hype to suck you in, little substance in the goods... much like what MountainArt mentioned earlier about a "battery 'generator'". (I hate dishonest vendors like that.) Very little technical details provided. That aside, one thing to keep in mind: the discharge/recharge rates, and will the "generator" have enough capacity for your needs. Just because Solar is included doesn't mean it will meet your needs as the Solar panels have low/slow recharge capacity. E.g. it won't be enough to recharge your "generator" while its powering a refridgerator.
DR B5 hour(s) ago I was looking at something like Patriot Solar Generator - [Click Here]yes it includes solar panels and back up battery
[AOF]Doolittle 12 hour(s) ago Juju you can use a hand truck that rolls flat.
jujubean13 hour(s) ago We bought a Duro Star portable gasoline generator with 4000 max. Cheap on Amazon back in 22. Like $400 or so. Should have bought it on wheels though. But hubby hooks up refrigerator, FAU or AC, TV, All kitchen stuff like coffee maker and toaster, microwave and a light etc. Not too loud and on a gallon of gas. Best thing since sliced bread! HA

holeinbow1 day(s) ago A couple weeks ago i bought one of those supposedly "banned in californy" gas generators right at the bottom of the hill. It was spendier than i liked, but i got a good modern machine that plays nice with today's electronics, has the oomph to run the fridge, and runs for twelve hours on a gallon of gas. A solar array can be next on the project list...

mountainart1 day(s) ago I am assuming you meant solar panels and battery sstorage, as there is no such thing as a battery "generator". That is an outright deliberate misleading name many battery storage manufacturers have started calling battery storage systems, especially after california banned actual real electricity "generators" that produce electrical power through use of petro fuels.
