Doggie Daddy6 minute(s) ago So, do we know that grocery stores are closed? (Vons in particular, as I am supposed to pick up and order)
Patricia7 minute(s) ago @luvtoread power outages are the reason we keep a stove top kettle and and a French press in the house.
It does make you wonder how power outages will go when they force us to get rid of gas appliances.
Patricia9 minute(s) ago I thought the grocery stores had back up power? Does that mean they are completely closed? I waited until today to shop because of the Nike race crowds.
MtMan12 minute(s) ago Starbucks is open
Ldb728 minute(s) ago If you look at windfinder.com, it shows the wind is less today than most days…. Thursday it’s gonna start blowing. BVES needs to get their stories straight! Interested they waited for the weekend to pass….
luv2read34 minute(s) ago I have friends staying at my cabin and got sos text. They need morning caffeine and wondering if any restaurants are open?😅
Brandi91643 minute(s) ago Are there any gas stations with backup generator? My SIL is OTH and neglected to keep her gas tank full despite the psp warning for tomorrow…
HappyCamper44 minute(s) ago @Mountain art yep, add grocery stores, communications, gas stations and the hospital. You’d think by now they’d have all invested in backup power..but I know they (most) haven’t! By now, due to winter weather you’d think they’d all be prepared.
Porlalee44 minute(s) ago Have owned our cabin here in asuharloaf for 22 yrs and this is the first time we have been here whenbpower is off However, still have not seen a donkey!!!
Trail Rider59 minute(s) ago The tank at Hatchery has a backup generator.
⚡WX ALERT⚡1 hour(s) ago Good question... a week maybe? We've been without power for longer than 8 hrs before.
mountainart1 hour(s) ago I wonder how long the water tanks will be able to supply the valley with no power to refill them
BootsNBridles1 hour(s) ago Big question is why, since newer safer style lines exist, SCE isn't using their profits to repair and replace lines in dangerous areas. Other electric companies have- including BVES. Could it have anything to do with the leaked comment from SCE a few years ago snickering about how they'd get even with their customers for the lawsuits? And it makes you wonder why the law that was going through our legislature at the time to require power companies to install the newest and best for safe equipment available... suddenly just disappeared?
BootsNBridles1 hour(s) ago Jfred- it depends on which lines SCE shuts down. Some of the lines we get power from are redundant- ie more than one line powers the same part of the valley. However other lines are the only power supply- so if they go down so does our power. Not sure why they predicted this to be the redundant line and it turned out not to be
