Bear Valley Electric Service, Inc is aware of the outage affecting the customers throughout Big Bear Valley. BVES crews have been dispatched and are working to restore power safely. Outage is due to a tree wire that overheated and melted. The damaged insulation is causing it to arc. We had to shut off power immediately to avoid a fire. Crew is on site replacing insulator. Estimated time of restoration is 4 - 6 hours.

Customers who require power to operate life-essential medical equipment are encouraged to make special accommodations as a precaution or dial 9-1-1 if they are unable to secure alternative power during an outage.

Why can’t they do this stuff in the middle of the night when no one cares if the power is out?

Ope -- careful, you'll fuel Munster's hatred towards Big Bear Valley even though Running Springs and other communities nearby had more outages last year and the following year beforeheand!

BVES just told me that Edison had to take down a transmission line suddenly due to some kind of emergency problem. 3 to 4 hours to restore.

How did you get hold of Bear Valley electric service at 7:30 p.m. on a sunday?
